VOOPOO Doric Q Overview

The VOOPOO Doric Q is a bright and colourful pod kit with a built in 800mAh battery. Although slightly wider than other Doric kits, it is still compact and can be stored easily in a pocket. It can output up to 12W which is ideal for mouth to lung vaping. Although this device doesn’t come with a charging cable, it can be recharged using a USB C cable.

There are no buttons on the Doric Q, making it easy to use. Simply fill the pod and inhale into the mouthpiece to vape. The small light on the side of the kit will turn green when the coil Is activated. The ITO pod features a built in 1.0ohm coil that is perfect for mouth to lung vaping. When paired with bar salt e-liquid it will provide the same intense flavours found in the leading disposables. Plus, it can last multiple refills before needing to be replaced. The clear design means the liquid level is visible from any angle. This ensures vapers can check how much e-liquid is left at a glance.

Which Vapers Should Buy The VOOPOO Doric Q?

The design of the Doric Q combined with the simple to use layout makes it the ideal step up from a disposable. It is not only much more environmentally friendly, but it provides much better value. When paired with a 10ml bottled of e-liquid it will last at least 5 times longer than a disposable. Plus, the ITO pod provides a smooth draw.

Appearance

The Doric Q is available in a wide range of vibrant colours. The coloured body is covered in a clear plastic coating. We think this looks rather cool and reminds us of the Crystal Bar or Diamond Bar disposables.

The kit doesn’t have any buttons to press and simply has an LED indicator light above the embossed VOOPOO logo. On the reverse of the kit is a USB-C charge port and the airflow hole.

In regards to the pod, the fill port is located on the side, near the bottom. The mouthpiece on these pods is a lot thinner than what we’ve seen from VOOPOO before. We’ll see if that’s a good or bad thing when we vape it.

With previous devices in the Doric range being metal, this new plastic kit adds a fun breath of fresh air and we really like it.

Performance

When testing the Doric Q we used bar salt liquid to get the same intense flavours found in disposable vapes.

The first thing that was noticed is that, out of the box, this kit has quite an airy draw. We were fine with it, but it might be an issue for users who prefer a tighter vape. If you love the look of this device, there is an option though. This kit can use the VOOPOO ITO-X pod, meaning that you can use it along with the 1.2ohm ITO coils. Likewise, if you want an airier RDL draw you can use the 0.8ohm coils. The pods are disposable and are pushed into place with a solid and audible click. Although they’re not held in place with magnets, they still firmly hold in the battery.

In terms of battery capacity, this kit has a decent 800mAh battery. This easily lasted us all day and simply needed charging overnight. We found that even when the battery was low, the device performed just the same as when it’s fully charged. This is thanks to the stable output power that it provides.

The simplicity of this kit makes it really easy to use. There are no buttons to press, no settings to adjust and uses auto-draw activation. It’s just pick up and vape.

The only real problem that we found with this kit is that it only comes with one pod and no USB-C cable. This won’t be a problem for most, as you may have a few USB-C's from other kits. But, new vapers may need to purchase one as an extra.

Ease Of Use

The Doric Q really couldn’t get much simpler. The pods are disposable, meaning you don’t have to change the coil. Also, the filling port is very easy to access.

With the pod, you can see its coil resistance clearly marked on the bottom and it’s fairly clear, so you can easily see your liquid level too.

This kit charges via USB-C, making it a much faster charge.

Verdict

With its budget friendly design and striking colours, we actually really love this kit. The fact that you don’t get a charging cable or spare pod does allow the price to be so low, and accessible to more budgets as a result. Also, the draw of this device is quite loose for an MTL, but as an airy MTL or tighter RDL, this kit is fantastic and simple.
