Vape Tank FAQs
What is a vape tank?
A vape tank is the heart and soul of your e-cigarette. Housed within the tank is a coil. It is the heating element which absorbs e-liquid and turns it into vapour. Each cartridge can be paired with a variety of coils, allowing you to enjoy both a MTL and DTL vaping experience.
If you would like further information on vape tanks, we have a dedicated Vape Tank Guide page that would be perfect for you.
How to clean a vape tank?
To clean a vape tank, you first must remove e-liquid and the coil. You can then rinse the tank with warm water or for a deep clean soak it in warm water and mild soap or baking soda. Rinse everything thoroughly and let the tank air dry. Once all moisture is gone, resemble and enjoy.
How to fill a vape tank for the first time?
To fill a vape tank for the first time, open the filling port and squeeze in e-liquid until it’s 90% full. Close the port and allow the coil to prime for 5 to 10 minutes before vaping. Some kits feature a top fill design for convenient on the go top ups.
Why is my vape juice turning dark in the tank?
Vape Juice turns dark in tanks commonly due to a natural chemical reaction called oxidation. This happens when the nicotine within the e-liquid is exposed to air. To slow this process, you can make a range of changes:
• Be sure to clean your tank regularly
• Store your vape in a dark place
• Ensure to replace coils
• Avoid mixing e-liquids
• Avoid prolonged contact with heat
How do you empty a vape tank?
To empty a vape tank, first remove it from the device by unscrewing it from the base. Carefully place it in the sink and remove the coil. Then wash it out with warm water. Alternatively, you can extract e-liquid out using an empty e-liquid bottle. Simply squeeze in the 10ml container, insert it into the kit, and release.
What is the difference between MTL tanks and Sub Ohm tanks?
A Mouth to Lung tank offers a restricted cig a like draw. Whereas sub ohm tanks provide a powerful inhale with huge clouds. Each tank is compatible with different coils and power settings. For example, a MTL cartridge can use a 0.6ohm to 1.2ohm coil, whereas the DTL requires coils below 0.4ohm.
What e-liquids should I use with my vape tank?
The type of e-liquid that works best with vape tanks depends on the coils inside. Sub-ohm tanks that use low-resistance coils work best with high VG e-liquid. This is because they are designed to be used at higher power settings to create bigger clouds. Popular choices include shortfill e-liquid such as Urban Chase.
Whereas, MTL/RDL tanks perform well with 50/50 PG/VG e-liquid and nic salts. Tanks with high-resistance coils perform better with nic salt. This is because they produce less vapour, so require a stronger liquid to deliver a quality throat hit with great flavour. Popular choices include ELUX nic salts and ELFLIQ.
