There from the Start
Based in East Lancashire, we are proud to be one of the very first online stores to have supplied e-cigarettes. The Electronic Cigarette Company was founded in 2008, just as the world of e-cigs was evolving. We began life as a simple online seller on eBay, before quickly progressing to a fully fledged website with its own office building and warehouse team. Over the years we gained the trust of vapers not just in the UK, but all over the world as well, with customers as far away as Australia and Japan. We now reside in a stunning, grade II listed old fire station building, which has been lovingly restored and modernised to house our ever-growing team. We also have a shop at our head office, where customers can visit to purchase all they might need for vaping. Come visit us at The Old Fire Station, 2A Manchester Road, Accrington, BB5 5QP. Shop opening hours are Mon-Fri 8:30am - 5pm, and Sat 9am-5pm.
We launched the first-ever pen-style e-cigs with the help of our partner Joyetech, which did away with the old atomized cartridge systems and revolutionised the way people vaped. But we didn't stop there; we were also one of the very first vaping companies to release a 'mech mod' called the screwdriver, which helped to pave the way forward for mods in general. As the industry continued to evolve, The Electronic Cigarette Company has moved along with it, and with over 15 years of experience, we are proud to be established as one of the UK’s most prominent electronic cigarette companies, providing information and support to the vaping community as well as supplying the latest and greatest high-quality products from the best brands around.

Marcus Saxton
CEO
Marcus joined our business as CEO in 2019. Before his appointment, Marcus spent the previous 7 years with the FTSE 250 personal care company, PZ Cussons, leading their UK, ROI and German business. Marcus is also the Chairman of the IBVTA, the UK’s leading independent vape association. Born in Manchester and having worked across a number of sectors and businesses. A family man, with a passion for sport and personal health & fitness, he was once even a personal trainer!
Liam Humberstone
Technical Director
As Technical Director, Liam takes overall responsibility for all technical areas of our activities, particularly product development with the TECC brand. He has been working in the vape industry since 2011, and has a varied career in engineering and scientific research and development. He has contributed widely to work in product standards with BSI, CEN and ISO, and has acted in an advisory capacity, as well as providing technical content, for several published national and international standards. He also serves as the Engagement & Stewardship Lead of the IBVTA Steering Committee.
Greg Ruffin
Ecommerce Manager
Greg has been with the business since 2020 after graduating from university. Since then, he has worked in both the wholesale and ecommerce business units, overseeing all marketing activity. Now in senior management, he was promoted to Ecommerce Manager in 2026, responsible for website growth, SEO, weekly comms and leading the TECC.co.uk business with his team. Greg has great connections with major brands and is always planning the next exciting stage in our business's ongoing development.
Rick Fleetwood
SEO Content Writer
Rick joined the business in 2014. After moving up over the years, including a 9-year stretch leading the TECC.co.uk business as Web/Ecommerce Manager, he now has a content-focused role, working on all aspects of SEO, blogs and other website content activity. An experienced vaper for over 13 years, he is passionate about writing in support of the industry he loves. He has formed connections with major brands like Innokin, SMOK, VOOPOO and many more. He loves spending time gaming and is also a huge Iron Maiden fan!
Joe Czyzyk
Warehouse Manager
Joe is our Warehouse Manger and has worked with us since the beginning of 2008! He has unrivalled experience in managing our warehouse team, making sure all orders are shipped out on time and has regular discussions with our couriers to keep things on track. He is also an experienced vaper and has given lots of product feedback over the years to help us choose only the best e-cigs for our customers. A lover of sport, especially Man United!
Michael Hawthornthwaite
Customer Service Supervisor
Mick originally joined the team in 2018 as a wholesale account manager, but has since been promoted to Customer Service Supervisor. He is responsible for making sure our emails, live chats and general customer interactions go smoothly each day. He has a lot of experience working with the public, which he skillfully uses to help our customers no matter what they may need. He’s a proper family man who also loves F1 and supports Blackburn Rovers.
