Will VOOPOO manage to eclipse its Vinci range?
Both the DRAG X and DRAG S are quite similar, but there are a couple of differences worth noting. Which one will you choose? Read on to find out!
The DRAG X is perhaps the most ‘comprehensive’ out of the two. Using a single 18650 battery, you’re going to get 80W of power from it. It’s a little taller than the DRAG S, but that is simply to accommodate the battery, and the difference is minimal.
It looks stunning too, with a lovely metal front and soft leather grip on the back, with the words DRAG embossed. A colour screen is included too, making it easy to check on the current vape settings.
The GENE.TT chip uses the latest technology from VOOPOO, and it looks set to be one of its best yet! With the usual super fast coil activation and multiple protection features, it’s certainly impressive.
Some will pass this off as a gimmick, and I am still unsure as to whether it’s needed, but VOOPOO have added a new ‘achievement’ system to the DRAG X. This system basically ranks each vape you take and scores you accordingly. The lowest rank is ‘iron’ and the highest rank is ‘king’.
The tank is a hybrid of sorts, and offers the convenience of a pod with the features of a tank. The push fit PnP coils are available in multiple resistances, and the sliding airflow is a nice addition.
Overall, I think the DRAG X looks like it will bring some serious competition to the SMOK RPM80 and others in this arena. It seems to be offering a bit of something for almost everyone, which will only increase its success.
If you’re after the most complete experience out of the two, and don’t mind using removable batteries, then the DRAG X could be the one for you.
The DRAG S is the little brother of sorts to the X. It boasts the same great features and also includes the GENE.TT chip, which is sure to impress.
There are a couple of little differences though, although I imagine it will have minimal impact on the experience.
Firstly the DRAG S is a little smaller than the X, thanks to the inclusion of a built-in 2500mAh battery. The DRAG S can output up to 60W of power from this battery, which is more than enough for the PnP coils.
The appearance is virtually the same, with a stylish metal front and stitched leather grip on the back. There’s no doubt about it, both of these kits look absolutely stunning!
The tank is the same one found on the DRAG X, and is compatible with all PnP coils, which is handy if you like both MTL and DL vaping.
Like the DRAG X, the S also has a smart wattage mode, which will automatically adjust the wattage to suit the coil installed. This should help to minimise any burnouts from occurring and is a welcome feature in my opinion.
An achievement system is present here to, offering the same vape scoring features as the DRAG X. Again I am unsure as to what this offers, but there is no doubt it will appeal to some vapers.
The DRAG S looks set to be the go-to kit for those who prefer ease of use. The built-in battery and slightly more compact size will make the DRAG S great for new and existing vapers.
That concludes this preview! No matter which one you go for, the new DRAG devices are sure to go down well with vapers.
Will they eclipse the ever-popular Vinci series? That’s very hard to say, but one thing I am certain of is that they’re bound to gain a loyal fan base all their own, with or without Vinci users making the switch!
