Back With a Bang
The original SMOK novo released back in 2018 and proved to be a highly popular starter kit. Now into its fourth generation the novo 4 maintains those qualities with plenty of additions.
The novo 4 is automatic draw, so no need to press any buttons to fire the device, simply inhale and the e-cig will do the rest. To turn the SMOK novo 4 on and off simply click the button 5 times. A small but clear screen above the power button indicates all current vape setting including output wattage and battery level. The wattage can be adjusted by clicking the button 2/3 times, then each click after will increase the wattage in 0.5 increments.
Plenty of Colours to Choose From
We have been spoilt for choice with the novo 4 available in Blue Grey Cobra, Cyan Pink Cobra, Red Stabilising Wood, Black Stabilising Wood, Black Carbon Fibre, Silver Carbon Fibre, Fluid Black, Black Armour, White Armour and Fluid 7 Colour.
The novo 4 features an integrated 800mAh battery which can output up to 25W. That’s plenty of power for a vape starter kit or as an all-day MTL vape. It also features USB-C fast charging to go from empty to fully charged in 90 minutes. The circular feature on the front of the novo 4 which looks like it should be the fire button is actually the airflow. This can be adjusted by rotating the air-inlet ring to suit personal preference.
There’s Something Different About This Pod
Unlike previous generations which used disposable pods, the novo 4 comes with 0.8ohm LP1 coils which are push-fit making them easy to prime and install. Vapers who are used to disposable pods shouldn’t be to put off as it works out cheaper to replace the coils rather than a disposable pod. The LP1 coil features 3 silicone rings which are in place to offer that extra bit of protection against leakage.
The pod itself connects to the novo 4 through a strong magnetic connection making it easy to pop in and out for refills and coil changes. There is a black tint to the novo 4 pod, however the vape juice level is still clearly visible. To fill simply remove the pod from the novo 4 to reveal a side filling port.
SMOK novo 4 Summary
The novo 4 looks to continue to live up to the reputation of its predecessors. With the new LP1 coils, current novo vapers could use this kit as a guide to more advanced kits. While vapers who avoided previous novo kits because of the disposable pod will surely want to give this one a try.
