A look at how much you save by switching to vaping.

Smoking is extremely costly, with a 10 a day smoker paying on average £2294 per year on cigarettes. Did you know that vaping is 85% cheaper? That figure is only based on e-liquid, there are costs such as your new kit and pods/coils. So, how much does it cost to start vaping?
Cost vs smoking
The cost difference between tobacco products and e-liquid is huge. If you’d like to see how much you’d save, check out our quit-smoking calculator. Plus, it can work out the price of both cigarettes and roll ups.

Combustible tobacco doesn’t just affect the user, it costs the NHS an estimated £2.5 billion per year treating smoking related illness. Vaping is 95% healthier because e-cigs don’t contain the thousands of harmful chemicals found in cigarettes.
The cost of starter kits
When thinking about how much it costs to start vaping, the first thing you need to look at is your device.
There are plenty of starter kits to get you going on your vaping journey. They normally range from £7 – £50 for a refillable e-cig or around £6 per device if you go the disposable route.
Single use vapes like the Elf Bar 600 V2 or Lost Mary BM600 are great to begin your journey but are the most expensive way to vape. Each one contains around 600 puffs, so will last most users a day. If you’re buying a few to see if vaping is right for you, it’s not too bad. But, if you’re using them as a long term solution then it becomes quite costly.
Starter kits range from simple devices to ones that are bigger and have more advanced features. At the lower end of the scale, we have options like the Eleaf IORE LITE 2. These use disposable pods, which are swapped out when the coil starts to burn. As there’s no messy swapping of atomisers, they’re a great choice for new vapers. But, pods generally cost more than just coils on their own.

Coils & pods
All kits use coils in one way or another. They’ll either be replaceable or built into a pod.
On average, a coil will last around 2 weeks. This can change depending on the user as lifespan is affected by liquid type, how it’s vaped and what power setting you’re using it at. Assuming that it does last at least 2 weeks, then you’re only going to need a pack every month or two, depending on how many come in a box.
For the best savings on coils, take advantage of the tiered pricing. If you buy 2 packs then you’ll save 5% but if you buy at least 5 packs then you’ll get a 10% reduction.
E-Liquid
The second consumable you’re going to buy is your e-liquid. There are hundreds of different flavours and you should choose your juice based on your needs.
The intensity of freebase liquid depends on the nicotine strength. They’re available in heavy PG, which gives more throat hit, and 50/50.
The VLTZ range
VLTZ is a fantastic way to quit smoking, offering a complete journey to transition you away from cigarettes. It’s available in 30 extreme flavours and a variety of strengths.
The VLTZ bar is a disposable that’s extremely easy to use. All you have to do is remove it from the packaging and remove the bungs. Although it’s the easiest way to vape, it’s not the cheapest.
The VLTZ flex is the next step up. It features a rechargeable battery and uses pre filled pods. This allows you to quickly change flavours on the go. Each pre filled pod contains 2ml of e-liquid, which is the same as a disposable.
The VLTZ re:fuel adds even better value for money. The re:fuel is a disposable that you can recharge and fill with e-liquid. It can use at least 2 bottles before it needs to be replaced, meaning that you get the value of 10 disposables. It comes with a bottle of VLTZ e-liquid.
Finally, VLTZ e-liquid has the best value. It can be used with most MTL and RDL kits. Also, it has the most variety of nicotine strengths. It’s available in 0%, 0.6%, 1.0% and 1.6% in all 30 flavours.
