Can this kit get the basics right?

In this article...
The Hyola Pro Max 8000 has come at a time when, post the disposables ban, manufacturers are rethinking what made them popular. This product too, is a rethink of the Pro Max 6000; a popular disposable vape at the time.
This big puff vape pretty much has what you’d expect; a 2ml prefilled pod + 8ml refill container, up to 8,000 puffs and it’s available in 35 flavours.
Of course, I wondered whether it was worth choosing over rivals like the SKE Bar 15K, Hayati Pro Max Plus, or Titan Pro 15K. Let’s dive in and find out shall we?

Seems decent enough, let’s see how these come together in the vaping experience.
First Impressions
I have unboxed many e-cigs over the years, but I still look forward to getting my hands on something new. The Pro Max 8000 may be another big puff vape, but I had high hopes coming in to this review.
Inside the box you will find:
- 1 x Hyola Pro Max 8000 Battery
- 1 x 2ml Hyola Pro Max 8000 Prefilled Pod
- 1 x 8ml Hyola Pro Max 8000 Refill Container
- User Manual

One of the biggest improvements over the original Hyola Pro Max is the overall build quality. Expected since you don’t throw this one away, but still a notable upgrade.
The metallic body feels good to hold, and has enough weight to be sturdy without straying into bulky territory. It’s heavier than a disposable, but that’s the trade off for a bigger battery and e-liquid capacity.
The mouthpiece sits naturally on the lips and doesn’t feel oversized. Plus the rounded edges make it comfortable while being fingerprint resistant.
It also has an LED battery display that turns on every time you vape. This let’s me see exactly how much charge I have with a quick look. It’s better than the ‘traffic light’ system used on some competing devices.
It’s all very straightforward, but that made it appealing to me.
Getting Started With The Hyola Pro Max 8000
It’s simple appearance is also present in how you get it ready to vape. The initial setup only takes a minute or two:
- Remove the device and pod from the packaging.
- Take off the protective stickers and silicone seals.
- Connect the refill container to the pod until it clicks into place.
- Insert the completed pod into the device.
- Wait a few minutes for the coil to fully soak.
- Inhale to start vaping.

You don’t need to worry about menus, buttons or wattage settings to adjust.
If you have recently moved from disposables, the experience is almost identical, which I assume is exactly what Hyola was aiming for.
Using The Hyola Pro Max 8000
The Pro Max 8000 is made for mouth to lung vaping, and that’s exactly how it feels. The inhale closely resembles a cigarette, so it would be particularly good for smokers making the switch.

Thanks to the mesh coil, cloud production is consistent throughout. It has a warm feel with plenty of flavour that doesn’t drop off quickly like some cheap alternatives.
Many prefilled pod systems start strongly before fading noticeably once you get to the halfway point. During my time with this kit, I found the Hyola Pro Max Pods maintained their flavour surprisingly well. It only softened slightly towards the very end of the pods lifespan, which is to be expected.
The automatic refilling also deserves credit. It’s quite common on this type of kit, and something you’ll rarely think about, but that’s the point.
The 8ml refill container keeps topping up the 2ml pod as you vape. This means there’s no need to refill anything yourself, it simply gets on with the job.
Battery Life
The kit has a built-in 800mAh battery. Between the size and longevity of the pods, it strikes a good balance.
Most moderate vapers will find a full charge is easily enough to get through the day. Heavier vapers might need to grab the charging cable later on, but it won’t be often. You’ll have to recharge the battery several times before the pod is finished at any rate.
Fortunately, charging is quick.
Using USB-C, you can expect a full charge in around 40 minutes. This makes it easy to top up while working, driving or simply at home relaxing. The LED display will let you know when it’s ready to go again.

The only minor criticism is that a charging cable isn’t included. But at this point, most people will already have a USB-C cable to use.
Hyola Pro Max Pods & Refills
The replacement Hyola Pro Max Refill Pods are one of the biggest reasons to choose this kit over its competitors.
Each refill has a 2ml prefilled pod and 8ml refill container. This gives you a total of 10ml to use for up to 8,000 puffs.

Replacing them is fast and straightforward:
- Remove the empty pod
- Click the 2ml & 8ml pods together
- Slot them inside the battery
- You’re ready to vape again
The auto refill keeps the coil soaked in liquid, helping maintain flavour right up until the pod is empty. I experienced no leaking, very little condensation build up, and no flooding of the coil. All in all, I was impressed with how these refills perform.
Flavour Performance
Hyola built a lot of its popularity on flavour, and thankfully its rechargeable range continues that reputation.
With 35 flavours available for the kit and an extensive range of Hyola Max Refill Pods, there’s enough choice to suit everyone.
I couldn’t try every flavour, but here’s what I thought to the ones I did get my hands on.
| Flavour Name | Verdict |
|---|---|
| Triple Mango | This was a great flavour. Smooth and tropical with plenty of natural sweetness. Rich without being too sugary. An easy all day vape |
| Mad Blue | Still one of Hyola’s standout flavours. A punchy blue raspberry that’s sweet, a little tart but packed with flavour |
| Cherry Ice | I liked the balance between dark cherry and the cool menthol. It avoids that harsh finish I get in some ‘ice’ flavours |
| Fresh Mint | Ideal for new vapers, this one was clean, crisp and refreshing with a gentle sweetness running through it |
| Blue Razz Gummy Bear | Great for sweet/candy lovers. Blue raspberry with a soft gummy sweetness. It’s full bodied and intense, but stays balanced |
I really enjoyed trying these flavours out, and suspect whichever you choose, it will taste on point.
The mesh coil also does a great job of bringing out some of the individual notes, particularly with the more complex flavours.
Does It Feel Like An Upgrade Over The Hyola Pro Max 6000?
For a few vapers, this is quite an important question that really matters.
The Hyola Pro Max 6000 built a loyal following thanks to its bold flavours and simplicity. So any replacement was always going to have some big shoes to fill.
Fortunately, the Hyola Pro Max 8000 doesn’t try to fix what wasn’t broken here. Instead, it builds on the same successful formula while dropping in some worthwhile improvements.
The flavours remain virtually the same. The Inhale is just as satisfying and the draw activation make the transition seamless.
It feels more premium, the LED display removes guesswork around charging, and the reusable battery makes it much more cost effective in the long term.
In short, if you enjoyed the original Pro Max 6000 before the disposable ban came in, the 8000 feels less like a replacement, and more like a welcome evolution.
Would I Recommend The Hyola Pro Max 8000?
Yes, it would be silly of me not to.
The Hyola Pro Max 8000 is one of the best options you could pick.
It keeps everything that made Hyola popular in the first place; great flavour, simple operation and satisfying nicotine delivery.
The automatic refill system works perfectly, the mesh coil gives consistently rich, intense flavour and the battery easily keeps up with most vapers day to day use.
It’s built for people who simply want a reliable vape that tastes good. For that audience, Hyola has produced one of the most convincing post-disposable kits I’ve tested yet. It’s priced at £7.99, and honestly, it’s an absolute steal for everything you get with it.
