Can Hyola compete with with it's rivals?

In this article...
The Hyola Ultra 30K is one of the more interesting big puff devices to arrive this year. It has a huge 30,000 puffs with rechargeable battery, dual flavours and prefilled pods.
It certainly promises a lot. Two separate prefilled pods, the ability to swap flavours with a simple lift and twist of the mouthpiece and lots of flavour choice.
The question is, can it compete with the likes of Hayati who, with an Ultra kit of its own, currently dominates the market? Let’s find out!

First Impressions
After using countless big puff kits over the last year, it’s getting increasingly difficult for new releases to feel different to me.
The Hyola Ultra 30K manages to.
Inside the package you get:
- 1 x Hyola Ultra Battery
- 2 x Hyola 1ml Prefilled Pod
- 2 x Hyola 9ml Refill Container
- User Manual

It immediately feels more substantial than most kits. Not a surprise considering it has two complete pods inside, but Hyola still manage to keep everything in proportion.
It has a premium feel to it with no loose parts or creaky plastic; everything slots together well and feels precise.
The pods connect firmly, but remain easy to remove when it’s time to change them. Plus I like the LED display to quickly show me how much battery I have left.
It’s weighty, yes, but in this case it reinforces the feeling of quality. Considering the capacity, Hyola did a great job keeping it pocket-friendly.
Getting Started With The Hyola Ultra 30K
Anyone who has used one of these types of vapes will be familiar with what to do.
It really is straightforward:
- Remove the battery and pod from the packaging.
- Peel away all protective seals and silicone bungs.
- Push each 9ml refill container firmly onto its matching 1ml pod until it clicks.
- Insert the assembled pod system into the battery.
- Wait a couple of minutes for the liquid to fully saturate the mesh coils.
- Inhale to vape.
There are no buttons, no wattage adjustments, no airflow controls and no menus.
It’s almost just like a disposable, but with a way better puff count and much better ongoing costs. For new vapers or smokers, It will be a noticeable difference.
Using The Hyola Ultra 30K
From the first puff, it feels familiar with its mouth-to-lung (MTL) inhale. There is no airflow to adjust so all you need to do is take a draw and the kit responds almost immediately.

Vapour production stays consistent thanks to the dual mesh coil design. There is full bodied flavour and it never gets too warm or muted as the pod empties.
That’s what I like about mesh coils, they heat liquid so much better than wire based ones, so you get better flavour and fuller vapour.
Let’s talk about the 30,000 puffs for a moment. Like similar vapes, puff counts are measured under ‘controlled’ conditions, with short inhales.
In the real world, the puff count you get will vary wildly from person to person. If you take short inhales, you’ll get closer to the advertised figures. If you take longer, more frequent inhales (like me), you use more liquid, reducing the overall puff count.
That said, with its twin 1ml+9ml pods, the Hyola Ultra will outlast most other kits by quite a margin. This means less time replacing pods and more time vaping.
Dual Flavour To Savour
Hyola isn’t the first to experiment with dual flavours. Some of these designs can be complicated, or at worst, allow flavours to blend into each other.
Thankfully, the Hyola Ultra 30K avoids both pitfalls.
Each flavour has its own completely separate pod, refill container and mesh coil. This means no matter what you choose, one remains independent from the other.
Changing flavours is very easy too.
- Lift the mouthpiece
- Rotate it 180 degrees
- Release
That’s it. The mechanism clicks back into place and instantly switches to the second pod.
I enjoyed being able to have something fruity in the morning, before switching to a fresh cool flavour later in the day.
Better yet, if you don’t want two flavours, Hyola does offer several single flavour editions so you can stick to one taste. This flexibility sets the Ultra 30K apart from its rivals in my mind.
Battery Life
A large e-liquid capacity means a larger battery right? Well, not exactly.

The built-in 800mAh battery in the kit is actually smaller than most, including its main rival; The Hayati Pro Ultra Plus.
It feels like a slight compromise Hyola had to make in order to fit such an impressive e-liquid capacity into a relatively compact unit.
Fortunately, it should still last most users the day before needing a recharge. Heavy vapers may find themselves needing to top it up in the evening though.
Charging is done via USB-C, so most people should have one of these at home to use. Just make sure you plug it in to a compatible e-cig charger.
The LED battery display gives quick visuals on remaining battery whenever you vape. It’s simple, but useful. When it indicates low charge, a quick top up is all you need to carry on with your day.
Hyola Ultra 30K Pods & Refills
When you run out of liquid, it’s time to get the pods replaced.

Each replacement pack of Hyola Ultra 30K Pods comes with two prefilled 1ml pods, and two matching 9ml refill containers. This gives you the same amount of liquid you had initially with the kit.
Replacing them is a breeze:
- Remove the used pod.
- Click the replacement pod together.
- Drop it into the battery.
- You’re ready to vape again within seconds.
If you already own the kit, grabbing a few spare Ultra Pods makes sense.
Flavour Performance
Flavour is important with these prefilled kits, and the Hyola Ultra 30K doesn’t disappoint.
The range currently includes 26 dual flavour editions, with 5 single flavour options. This gives you access to over 50 different tastes in total without needing multiple devices.
During my time with the Hyola Ultra, I managed to try a few of them. Here’s what I thought.
| Flavour Name | Verdict |
|---|---|
| Blue Edition | A safe all-day choice. Combining the popular Mr Blue with Blueberry Raspberry |
| Cherry Edition | An excellent contrast of ice cool cherry with sweet, fizzy cherry soda |
| Lime Edition | Loved this one. Two zesty citrus flavours that work really well together. |
| Juicy Edition | If tropical flavours are your thing, then this would be an ideal option to pick |
| Fantasy Edition | Not quite an epic adventure, but a solid candy inspired duo if you want something different |
What impressed me most in all of this wasn’t the flavours themselves (which were great), it’s how easy the dual-flavour system makes it to swap between them.
Sometimes you just want to try something else during the day without needing another kit with you. The lift and twist solution solves that problem brilliantly.
Would I Recommend The Hyola Ultra 30K?
A resounding yes from me.
The big puff market has become so crowded the last 12 months post the disposables ban. But the Hyola Ultra 30K manages to stand out for all the right reasons.
It has a fantastic 30,000 puff count, but it’s the other features that feel like a genuine improvement on day to day vaping.
The dual flavour system really is a great way to enjoy more tastes on the go. It’s easy to use, and just works. I wish more brands offered this with their releases.
The flavour itself is very consistent, the dual mesh coils don’t miss a beat. Plus the sheer choice available dwarves a lot of competitors to boot.
Yes, it’s a bit bigger/weightier than other pod kits.
Yes, the battery is smaller than I would have liked.
No, neither of those points feel like drawbacks when you consider everything else the kit gets right.
If convenience, flavour and longevity are important to you, the Hyola Ultra 30K is one of the strongest reusable big puff kits money can buy. And at £10.99, it’s less than a pack of cigarettes.
