We already know that vaping is a huge money saver when making the switch from smoking. However, there is still a cost to using e-cigs. From kit maintenance to buying e-liquid and coils, it can add up. Although, you can find ways to save money when vaping by following these helpful tips.
Use Less E-liquid
This one seems pretty straight forward. Using less e-liquid will save money, but its not easy for some to reduce their intake. So, here are some of the ways to do this.
Switch To MTL Vaping
Mouth to lung vaping is a technique similar to smoking. It is how most people start vaping as it is familiar. However, some do switch to DL vaping. Direct lung vaping uses much more e-liquid to produce larger clouds. So, by sticking to MTL vaping it will reduce the amount of e-liquid you use.
High Strength E-liquid
Another way to lower the amount of e-liquid you use is by increasing the strength, One of the reasons it is hard to decrease how much you vape is because of your nicotine cravings. Moving to a higher strength e-liquid will provide more nicotine with less puffs needed to get the desired hit.
Don’t go straight for the highest strength as this will probably be too harsh. Try moving up gradually until you are happy. Nic salts are a good liquid to do this with as the throat hit is smoother than regular liquid.
Stop Using Disposables
Disposables have been a popular choice for smokers trying to quit over the past year. This is down to the easy to use layout and cheap up front cost. However, in the long run they are the most expensive way to vape. If you’re still on disposables but feel comfortable moving to something more advanced then try a starter kit. These are still easy to use but require e-liquid and spare coils/pods. This may seem like more of an investment than disposables but they last much longer and are and easy switch to help you save money when vaping.

Prime Your Coils
This step is important as prolonging the coil life means less replacement are needed. If the coil isnt primed correctly it can cause the cotton to burn. This not only gives a horrible taste but shortens the lifespan. As a result you will go through more coils than necessary.
When using a fresh coil make sure to properly prime it before vaping. To do this add drops of e-liquid into each of the wicking areas. These are the holes on the side which contain cotton. Keep doing this until it no longer absorbs the liquid. Then fit the coil and insert the rest of the liquid into the tank. Also, give 5/10 minutes to ensure the coil is fully primed before vaping.
Make sure to use the right PG/VG ratio for the coil. High VG e-liquid should only be used with low resistance coils. High resistance coils over 0.6ohm will struggle to absorb the liquid quick enough and is another way of burning the coil.
