The worlds most powerful vape pod?

The SMOK RPM160 has been catching the eyes of many vapers since it was announced last month. Blurring the lines between a mod and a pod, I’m taking a more in-depth look at what we can expect to see from this juggernaut kit.
Bigger And Better
There’s no doubt that the RPM160 represents a giant leap from previous pods released by SMOK. It doubles the power output and battery capacity, creating a kit that wouldn’t look out of place amongst other dual battery mods.
The new RPM160 coils offer vapers a 0.15ohm mesh resistance. This coil will clearly be making the most out of the devices power and produce large clouds of vapour. It will be interesting how it will handle the higher power, but the wicking holes look large enough to cope.
Classic SMOK Design
The SMOK RPM160 certainly looks the part. The stylish carbon fibre finish look great, and really complements the device. It’s obvious that SMOK has returned to its more traditional styling with this release.
A large 0.96inch colour screen located on the front features a slick, updated UI that really suits the look and feel of the device. The information displayed looks clean and easy to digest, which is a must when you’re adjusting settings.
The pod itself is less flattering compared to the rest of the kit, but despite its ‘clunky’ appearance it does match the device in a weird kind of way.
Enhanced Performance
We all know that looks mean nothing compared to performance, and it seems the RPM160 will have both in spades.
160W is a huge number, but the reality is that the coils will never be able to take that much power. It may make it seem redundant to have this much power, but it also makes sense to utilise the full power of those 18650 batteries too.
The new IQ-160 chipset is what helps the RPM160 stand out here. Fast coil activation in just 0.001s, adaptive power output and responsive settings make the RPM160 sound impressive.
It would have been good to see SMOK use the USB-C charging format as it did for the Fetch Pro, but we’re stuck with the older micro USB format for this one. Battery balanced charging will help keep batteries charged more efficiently and lengthen lifespan however which is nice.
SMOK RPM160 Summary
The SMOK RPM160 looks to be another stand out device from a manufacturer vapers have come to know for its big, often brash devices.
I have no doubt that the RPM160 will appeal to vapers looking for the ultimate cloud chasing vape pod kit. It is powerful, stylish and the dual 18650 batteries will ensure great battery life.
The push fit coils and easy to use pod only add to the appeal, but I will reserve judgement until the full release. One thing I am sure of though is that the SMOK RPM160 is blurring the lines between a mod and a pod.
This leap forward could open the door to the cloud chasing vapers who until now, have always sat on the fence.
