Vapril 2024 is here. But what is it? And how can it help you become a more informed vaper?
VApril is a dedicated month to help smokers make the switch to vaping. It offers catered advice on the right vape kit, nicotine strengths and flavours that will allow you to make the switch with ease (1).
The campaign was created by the UK Vaping Industry Association (UKVIA) and is the world’s largest vaping education campaign.
This year the campaign aims to help people make the switch to reusable and refillable devices in line with the April 2025 UK disposable ban.
It also drives to help people choose the best device for them, identify which devices are fake, and understand the health benefits of vaping.
The Start Vaping, Stop Smoking VApril Plan
The ‘Start Vaping, Stop Smoking Plan’ is a core component of the campaign which aims to support smokers in making the switch to e-cigarettes.
At TECC.co.uk we know that when it comes to quitting smoking it’s important to ensure you’re using the right products.
Our site features a handy guide on starter kits which displays detailed information on the different types of kits we offer. Such as the VLTZ Flex Pro, TECC Spectre, and the GeekVape Wenax Q Mini.

Is Your Vape Fake?
Illegal vapes are extremely common and are often purchased and consumed by underage users.
In a recent BBC Documentary ‘Jordan North: The Truth About Vaping’ Trading Standards UK revealed 45 million illegal vapes are sold and consumed each year. This generates 300 million pounds worth of profit (2).
Here are some ways to help you identify prohibited devices
- Vapes sold in the UK cannot hold more than 2ml of e-liquid.
Any devices that hold more than 2ml of liquid are illegal. However, our Big Puff Devices aren’t illegal as they feature 2ml interchangeable pods which align with UK TRPR laws.
- Nicotine Strength should be no higher than 2%/20mg
The nicotine strength of disposables or liquids should be no more than 20mg. Any product that contains higher levels is not compliant in the UK and therefore illegal.
- All devices should feature an ECID Number
An ECID code is a European Community Identification that will feature on a device’s packaging. It allows you to check if the product is authentic by visiting the brand’s website. If you would like to check your product, enter it directly into the ECID website.
Also, be sure to find out more about the BBC’s documentary on fake devices and the Government crackdown.
#VapingWorks
In the UK, almost 4.5million adult vaper’s are either former smokers or still on the path to quitting (1).
The campaign aims to stop the spread of misinformation and provide accounts from smokers and health professionals who champion the potential of vaping.
VApril wants to hear from you and if you would like to share your quit-smoking story use the #VapingWorks hashtag.
