A new standard has been set.

VOOPOO has released another brand new addition to its famous DRAG range! Unlike the E60 or H80S, this device looks more like the DRAG 3. Powered by dual 18650 batteries, this mod can hit a whopping 177W! It also comes with a brand new UFORCE tank, which takes the iconic PnP coils. Its features bring some quality of life changes to an already fantastic menu system, but more of that later. So, let’s take a closer look at the VOOPOO DRAG 4, shall we?
Appearance

Let’s start with the mod. The device features a sleek blend of polished and matte metalwork. Also, the bulk of the kit is taken up by the battery cover, which comes in two distinct textures. There is a wood panel effect and a resin effect to chose from, each of these styles will be available in different colours. The branding on the device is much more subtle than what we saw on the DRAG 2. With a simple company logo on the edge and a very stylish metal DRAG logo on the side. The edge of the kit that sports the VOOPOO logo also has a small leatherette panel. Very stylish.
The size of the device is a little larger than the DRAG 3 and is similar in size to a VOOPOO ARGUS GT II.
On the face of the device there’s a fire button, lock switch and an up & down button. The front of the kit also features the USB-C charge port. We always recommend that removable batteries are charged using an external charger.
The build quality of this beautiful device is insane. It feels very high quality and the little touches like the ‘spark your life’ stitched onto the battery ribbon and a ‘thank you for choosing DRAG’ message on the inside add a personal flair.
Now, finally moving onto the tank. Just like the mod, it has very high build quality. It also has the same metal finish as the mod, which is great. I hate when the finishes don’t match. With a quarter turn, the top lifts off and reveals the filling holes. A tiny feature that makes a huge difference is the bars over the airflow holes. Although it might look like an aesthetic choice, it actually reduces the noise when drawing on the tank.
VOOPOO DRAG 4 – Performance
Wow. This kit is really something. I’ve been reviewing all of the VOOPOO kits that have been released over the past few months, and there has been a lot. It’s been great to see VOOPOO improving their devices one at a time. It seems like every kit that’s released comes with a small change that makes a huge difference.
Because this kit has so many features, I’m going to break them down separately.

Menu
The menu of this kit features a ton of options for customising your kit. The first option is power mode. There are a few to choose from here so let me break it down.
| Smart | Smart mode reads your coil and sets the minimum and maximum wattage to the coils limits. This helps stop accidental burning. |
| RBA | RBA mode is your general power setting. It allows you to set the wattage to whatever you feel like vaping. This is great if it misreads your coils because your using a different tank. |
| Eco | Eco mode saves battery and gives you more out of your batteries. I’m not sure how it does this but VOOPOO claim it adds and extra 30% to your battery life. We saw this feature in the VOOPOO DRAG E60. |
| TC | Temperature Control is used with specific TC coils. It allows you to set the temp you want your coils to run at rather than the wattage. Coils supported are Ni, TI and SS. |
The next feature is ‘switch’. This setting allows you to change the functionality of the lock switch on the front of the device. So, you have two settings which either lock the whole device when switched or you can simply lock the fire buttons. The VOOPOO ARGUS XT featured this, but its was a dual switch rather than a customisable one.
There’s also the options to reset your puff counter and… change the screen colour! I’ve been waiting for this feature to pop up on a VOOPOO device since I first got my ARGUS GT II. It doesn’t change the performance, I just like to change my screen colour.
VOOPOO DRAG 4 – How Does it Vape?
This kit vapes amazingly. The PnP coils have always been popular and reliable. So, it’s no surprise that the new PnP coils are phenomenal. They have great cloud production and fantastic flavour. The tank looks brilliant and is very easy to use. Usually with VOOPOO kits, the TPP coils are the go to for DL vapes. So, it was an interesting choice to go with the PnPs. I use both and the cloud production of them isn’t quite as large. But, I prefer flavour rather than vapour production and these coils are certainly not lacking in that department.
I never thought I’d review a device that would make me question my devotion to the ARGUS range, but here we are. VOOPOO may have sent me a permanent replacement for my GT II.
Ease of Use
This device is insanely easy to use and comes with a huge variety of features to make vaping simple. Firstly, there’s the smart mode that helps you set your wattage. There’s also eco mode for when you need your device to last longer. The tank has an easy to use quarter-turn top fill and push fit coils. Also, the kit has USB-C quick charge for quickly topping up on the go. The batteries are also under a c shaped magnetic cover, rather than the typical battery door at the bottom.
Price
The VOOPOO DRAG 4 costs £59.99, which is a little more expensive than the GTII or XT. However, the build quality and overall look of this kit is well worth the extra £5. It’s the same price as the SMOK MAG-18, and out of the two I found this device to be far superior.
The UFORCE-L tank featured on this kit can be bought separately for £22.99.
The new PnP-TW coils cost £11.49 for a pack of 5. The older style PnP coils cost £12.99 for five and this device can use both.
Target Audience
This kit is aimed at DL vapers. So, the coils that come with the kit are 0.15ohm and 0.2ohm. As a DL kit, it’s a very, very good kit. It vapes well and gives off fantastic flavour. You’d only find issue with this kit if you’re a high wattage DL vaper, as the highest available is the 0.15ohm coil at 70W.
If you’re an RDL or MTL vaper though, don’t rule this kit out! There are 0.8ohm and 1.0ohm PnP coils available as an additional purchase. As an MTL kit, this mod would be monstrous. The dual 18650s would give days of battery life.
VOOPOO DRAG 4 Final Verdict
This device is mega. It’s powered by two 18650s and can reach highs of 177W. There are tons of features to tailor your vaping experience, which makes it a fantastic kit for most vapers. VOOPOO have done it again.
