Vaping On A (O)Small Scale.
Vaporesso has released a sequel to its Osmall device. A much-needed improvement, featuring a 29% bigger battery and USB-C quick charge. The plastic case still feels great quality and feels comfortable when held. Due to the pods only being available in 1.2ohm, it’s well and truly an MTL device. But, that makes it a great choice for new vapers or disposable users looking to convert. Let’s kick off this Vaporesso Osmall 2 review and take a closer look at this discreet kit.
Appearance
As with most Vaporesso products, such as the GEN 200 or Target 200, quality is at the forefront of this kit. Even though it’s on the cheaper side and has a plastic shell, this kit feels quality. The device is available in three colours: black, silver and a very nice powder blue.
The kit features a USB-C quick charge port on the base of the device and a logo strip on the face of the it. Above the logo strip is a small LED that lets you know that the battery is firing.
The size of the device is one of the main selling points. Measuring at a meagre 8.68cm, this kit is great if you want a device that’s discreet.
Performance
At 450mAh, the battery life of this device isn’t the greatest on the market. But, adding a bigger battery would obviously have made the kit bigger so it’s understandable. If you’re not a heavy smoker, the Osmall will last you throughout the work day. If you’re in an environment where you can access a charger, even better.
You get a single pod with the device, so if you’re an inexperienced vaper I would recommend buying an extra pack of pods. That way you’re covered if something goes wrong with your only pod. The pod itself contains a 1.2ohm coil and has a surprisingly airy draw, this can then be made even airier by rotating the pod 180 degrees. This might not be ideal for some MTL vapers who enjoy a more restricted draw, but I thought it was great. The duck bill style mouthpiece on the pod feels very comfortable and is common in similar pod systems, such as the Joyetech EVIO C. The pod fills from the side by lifting a rubber bung, again similar to most other pod systems on the market. I didn’t experience any leakage from the pod, with the exception of me overfilling it a few times and making a mess.
Ease Of Use
The only way this kit could be any simpler to use is if it came with pre-filled pods. The rubber bung on the pod was very easy to remove for filling. The lack of coils means that when the pod burns out you simply replace it. There’s no buttons to press, which means you can’t accidentally burn out your coil in your pocket.
This is a very simple to use device. Fill your pod, wait 10 minutes and you’re good to go.
Price
The price is where the Vaporesso Osmall 2 stumbles slightly. At £11.99 the kit is a little pricier that competitors such as the Joyetech WideWick, which is a very similar device but with a bigger battery. Although, it is still cheaper than products like the OXVA XLIM SE.
The pods are a very modest £8.99 for a pack of 4, which is great value for money and a definite recommended purchase along with the kit.
Target Audience
The Vaporesso Osmall 2 is well and truly an MTL kit, but would be suitable for DTL vapers as a secondary device. I have an MTL device that I use when I go out or when my DTL kit would be too clunky to carry around. The Osmall also wouldn’t be suitable for heavy users, as the battery would drain quite quickly. Although, if you’re around a power source during the day then this would offset this issue. This kit would also be a great choice for disposable users who are after a kit that’s more cost efficient than regular disposables.
Final Verdict
Not a bad kit by any stretch of the imagination, just didn’t quite do it for me. For light to medium smokers looking to make the change, or office workers looking for a small and discreet device, this kit would be a perfect choice. It is also a really good option for disposable users looking to switch. The main selling points of this kit are certainly its ease of use and its size. The light weight and compact design make it a perfect stealth vape, and the quality of this kit matches Vaporesso’s usual high standards.
And that’s it for the Vaporesso Osmall 2 review! I hope this has been useful in helping you choose your next (or first) device.
