A stylish pod mod that is simple to use and maintain.

Joyetech has announced a brand new device to its outstanding EVIO range. The EVIO Pod is a 960mAh battery kit with variable airflow and disposable pods. The pods themselves have a pretty unique filling method which you won’t find on most pod systems. So, without further a do, let’s take a closer look at the Joyetech EVIO Pod!
Appearance

The EVIO Pod is a nice looking pod type kit with a cobblestone like pattern front and back. It doesn’t have any fancy buttons to press and only features an LED light at the bottom of the front panel. The charge port is located on the bottom of the device and is a USB-C type charge. This means that the kit is quick charge, which is always a plus.
I really like the look of this kit, it’s pleasing to look at and strives for simplicity. Also, the pattern echos the design that was on the old iStick Mix, which is a kit that I loved the look of.
The only downside I found in the appearance of the kit was the L and H on the sides of the kit. This is to indicate the low and high of the airflow.
Joyetech EVIO Pod – Performance
This kit vapes great. I’ve tested and reviewed a lot of pod mods recently, and the EVIO Pod has something unique that makes it stand out from the crowd. The filling method is brilliant, as it has a sliding open method. This new filling method is a breath of fresh air from rubber bung type fills like on the GeekVape Wenax H1, or the snap off cap like the Uwell Caliburn G. The kit only comes with a single 0.8ohm pod, so if you’re new to vaping or even if you’re not, I recommend getting a spare pack of pods. The output of the kit is a fixed 17watts.
In terms of the performance of the device, I thought it vaped really well. The draw on the kit was airy enough for me, as I prefer more of an RDL draw. Also, the airflow is variable and takes a simple 180 of the pod to adjust. Personally, I thought the difference was minimal. There’s not that much of a difference between the two, but there is a difference. The flavour was consistent and, whilst not as flavourful as a DL coil, you can certainly taste your e-liquid really well. For purposes of testing this kit I used Bar Juice 5000 Apple Peach.
The kit lasted me about a day of use, as I don’t use MTL devices as much due to using high nicotine liquid. Even when I forgot to charge the device overnight, thanks to its USB-C charge port, it recharged relatively quickly.
Ease of Use
This kit could only be simpler if it came with pre-filled pods. It has disposable pods, meaning no coil change. The new filling method makes filling the device a dream. Also, the USB-C charge port means that it’s quick charge.
There are no buttons to press as the kit is draw activated and there’s no power settings to play around with.
Price
The EVIO Pod costs £17.99, which is pretty good for a pod mod. Slightly cheaper than similar kits such as the Eleaf IORE Prime and Vaporesso LUXE QS.
Target Audience
This kit is aimed at MTL vapers. It does really well for a MTL kit and would make an ideal starter kit, due to its simplicity. It vapes great and the flavour is consistent.
The only issue might be if you’re an MTL vaper that prefers a tighter draw. If you are, then this kit isn’t for you. If there was an option on a 1.2ohm pod then this kit would be perfect for everyone.
Joyetech EVIO Pod – Final Verdict
It’s a nice little pod mod. The quality of the vapour and flavour is nice, and the airflow is on the airier side. The adjustable airflow is a nice touch, even though I didn’t really notice that much of a difference. Also, I really like the look of this kit and think it looks really stylish. Not a kit for you if you like a restricted draw, but I liked vaping it.
