Amazing mod and a good tank.

Eleaf has unveiled a brand new addition to its iconic iStick Power range. Presenting the Eleaf iStick Power Mono! This modestly sized kit holds a 3500mAh battery that’s sure to keep you going all day. And with up to 80watts of power, the Mono is very versatile and a great kit for MTL and DL vapers alike.
Appearance

The iStick Power Mono shares its looks with the newer iStick models such as the Pico Le and iSOLO AIR 2. In fact it looks like the big brother of the AIR 2.
It features a sleek looking matte metal finish and there’s a lovely leatherette panel on the back of the mod. The panel not only looks great but is very comfortable to hold. On either side of the screen you have ‘Eleaf’ and ‘iPower Solo’ written in cursive, which adds a touch of class. The Mono isn’t as small as a pen type, but is still small enough to fit comfortably in your hand.
The front of the device sports the fire button, screen, wattage adjustment buttons and USB-C charge port. The screen is simplistic and doesn’t have any fancy features. For some this might be a con, but I like it.
The tank that you get with the kit is the GTL pod tank which is the same tank that comes with the Pico Le, Power 2 and T80 GTL. So, whilst the tank is nothing new, why change what works? It looks smart on top of the Solo mod.
Eleaf iStick Power Mono – Performance
The Mono comes with two coils: a 0.8ohm (12-18w) and a 0.4ohm (20-30w). Since I prefer my DL kits to vape around 50watts, I decided to try this mod out as a MTL device. To see how it performs at higher wattage I did try a different tank, but more on that later. My liquid of choice for this mod was Bar Juice 5000 White Peach Razz.
As an MTL vape, this device lasts for days. It vapes very smooth and the flavour is very good. But I knew it would be, I’ve used GTL coils before in the iJust D20. I ran the power at 14watts and it produced a good amount of vapour for an MTL. If you prefer a tighter draw then the tanks airflow can be adjusted, or if it’s still too early then you can buy higher resistance (1.2ohm) coils. The simplicity of the screen made the device very easy to use. Set the wattage, hold up and down together to lock the wattage and go. There’s no fancy settings or modes to worry about, its very convenient.
In order to test the DL potential of this kit I screwed on my VOOPOO MAAT tank and vaped it at my usual 50 watts. The battery lasted me around a day, but I vape a lot. One of the benefits of working for a vape company. This mod is really great, and it’s mainly because of the kits simplicity. Aside from reducing confusion, a less complicated screen means that there’s less for your battery to power.
I would have liked to have seen a less resistant GTL coil released with the new kit, but if you’re a higher powered DL vaper you can just buy the mod and fit your own tank.
Ease of Use
This mod is very simple to use. The menu has no special features and the device is very easy to use. The coils in the GTL tank are push fit and the device charges from a USB-C connection.

Price
The Eleaf iStick Power Mono costs £59.99, which is a bit on the pricier side. But, the build quality of this kit is where the extra cost lies.
The coils are available in packs of 5 and cost £12.99. Replacement tanks cost £10.99 and replacement pods for the tank cost £2.99.
Target Audience
This kit is perfect for MTL vapers and for DL vapers that use lower wattage. For DL vapers that prefer higher wattage, up to 80 watts of course, would be better off buying the mod and a separate tank such as the VOOPOO MAAT tank or GeekVape Z tank.
Eleaf iStick Power Mono – Final Verdict
The iStick Power Mono is a fantastic mod. It’s simple to use, has a huge battery for its size and looks fantastic. The tank is good, but not suitable for vapers that prefer a higher power setting. For those vapers I recommend buying the mod on its own and a more powerful tank.
Please note this device is now discontinued and can no longer be purchased at The Electronic Cigarette Company.
However, the iStick device range has expanded with a selection of impressive high tech mods and easy to use kits. Including several cheaper alternatives such as the Eleaf iStick 20W battery and the Eleaf iStick 10W Mini battery.
