Battery safety is a very important thing to think about when vaping. But, even if you look after it, there’s a point where your kit starts to missbehave. There are some things that may lead you to ask “when should I replace my vape battery?”. Well, here’s a few signs that you may need to invest in a new one.
The battery isn’t holding charge

If your battery isn’t lasting as long, or you find that you’re charging it more than you used to, it’s a sign that you could do with a new one. Batteries have a limited number of charges in them, the more you use and the less time it’ll last.
This could be caused by old age, or from using a charger that’s too powerful. Outlets that are larger than 3A can damage the cells and also cause this issue.
There’s liquid damage

Have you dropped your e-cig in the pool or sink? Then it’s probably going to be water damaged. As with all electronics, they don’t mix very well with liquids. If you’re unfortunate enough, this can also be caused by a heavily leaking tank.
Now, there’s the old ‘seal it in a bag of rice‘ trick. But, this won’t always work as the liquid can fuse circuitry or leave behind residue.
The charge port is broke

In the horrible event that the charge port has been damaged, it can stop your e-cig from receiving any charge from the cable.
If you have a device with removable batteries, this isn’t as much as a problem as we advise that you use an external battery charger anyway. But, if your battery is internal then you’re going to have to get a replacement.
The battery wrap has damage

Speaking of external batteries, if the wrap around them becomes damaged then you need to replace them ASAP.
If the bare metal is exposed and makes contact with another metal object, it can cause the battery to vent. Think of a roman candle. You DO NOT want this to happen in your pocket or bag.
Luckily, you can pick one up for as low as £8.99.
You’ve lost your kit

This one is kind of obvious and most of us have been there before. It might have slipped out of your pocket in a taxi or you’ve dropped it down a grid. I recently had my DRAG 4 taken when my car was stolen. Regardless, if your e-cig is gone then you’re going to need a new one.
