Brand new kit from Eleaf, and it doesn't disappoint.

In this article...
Eleaf has been around for years, nearly as long as us. It’s released a wide variety of mods and kits over the years and we’ve seen some pretty great devices along the way. The iStick i40 is the latest innovation by Eleaf. With a decent 2600mAh battery, the mod can output up to 40W of power. Also, it comes with the new D20 tank, which makes maintenance simple. So, let’s take a closer look at the Eleaf iStick i40.
Appearance

I think that the i40 looks really stylish. It features a matte black metal body and has a coloured panel. Also, the material that this panel is made from is a soft foam and has some very vibrant colour choices. Eleaf’s logo features on one side of this grip and it says iStick i40 on the other. So, the sample that I received was cyan, and I love it. A very smart looking kit.
The D20 pod tank is new, but the pods themselves are the same used by the iJust D20 kit. Now, I personally think that the D20 is a fantastic device and the i40 is now the next step up.
On the face of the device is the fire button, screen, power adjustment buttons and the USB-C charge port. The screen on the kit is nothing flashy, as it simply features the coil resistance and wattage. As well as your battery capacity. This simplicity means that it won’t be a strain on the power levels.
Eleaf iStick i40 – Performance
The iStick i40 is an impressive little kit for how simple it is. I used the 0.8ohm coil and vaped it at 17W. The vapour production is great as a low powered RDL device, and with reduction of the airflow it works as a nice loose MTL vape.
The battery lasts around 2 days when vaped at a low wattage and only took around an hour and a half to recharge.
The sliding top on the GTL pod is very handy when you’re filling on the go and the coil was really easy to change since it’s push fit. The pod is held in place with magnets and they’re pretty durable. I didn’t have the pod fall out once whilst I was using it.
I love the feel of this kit. The i40 is very comfortable to vape thanks to its padded panels.
The iStick i40 reminds me of the TECC arc GTi, but with a slightly smaller battery and it’s a lot lighter.
Ease of Use
This kit is both easy to maintain and use. It has push fit coils, a sliding top fill and USB-C quick charging. The simple screen just shows battery, resistance and wattage and has a stealth mode. All in all, it’s as simple as can be. It’d make a perfect starter kit for new vapers.
Price
This kit is priced at £32.99. We are aware this quite a sum, however the device is designed to provide longevity and a durable vaping experience.
The coils cost £12.99 for a pack of five or £5.49 for a pack of two.
The pods cost £3.49 to replace if you somehow break it.
Target Audience
This kit is aimed at MTL or low power RDL vapers. It’s very versatile thanks to the adjustable airflow on the tank. If you’re looking for a tighter or airier draw, there are options with the 1.2ohm and 0.4ohm coils respectively.
Eleaf iStick i40 Final Verdict
This kit is a fantastic starter kit. It’s super simple to use and has an impressive 2600mAh battery. Combine this with the ability to output up to 40W and this is one versatile device. Suitable out of the box for loose MTL and RDL vapers, and with purchase of additional coils, it’ll suit tight MTL and low power DL vapers too.
