A great DL kit that looks amazing.

VOOPOO has added two brand new kits to it’s popular Argus range: the ARGUS MT and the ARGUS XT. I’m a big fan of the Argus range and couldn’t wait to get my hands on these two devices. Today we’re going to be checking out the ARGUS MT which is the internal battery version of the two kits. So, let’s take a closer look at this new e-cig!
Appearance

The VOOPOO ARGUS MT looks very similar to the ARGUS GT 2, only smaller. It features the same leatherette paneling, that adds to the comfort of using the device. Also, the kit features the same matte and polished metal parts that the GT 2 does. Where the main difference lies is the charge port. On the ARGUS 2 the charge port is located under a sliding tab at the top. Whereas on the MT VOOPOO have added a little flip down door, which I think looks pretty smart.
The leatherette panel is embossed with the ARGUS logo, which doesn’t subtract from the overall look of the kit. And the device features the usual Gene Chip logo printed on the side.
Another difference from the GT 2 is the location of the lock switch, which is now located just under the screen. The lock switch simply locks all buttons on the device so you can pocket the kit without turning it off completely. The lock switch on the ARGUS XT features an option to just lock the wattage controls. I would have liked to have seen the same switch on this model, but alas VOOPOO chose not to add it.
Most of the colours are shared with the XT and ARGUS 2, however the MT has a unique colour choice. The pearl white version looks stunning! It looks crisp and fresh when taken out of the box and the white finish almost glitters in the right light. Reminds me of fresh snow.
As I’ve come to expect from VOOPOO, the build quality of this kit is top notch. It feels very well made and the IP68 rating means that it’s dust, shock and water resistant.
VooPoo Argus MT – Performance
The VOOPOO ARGUS MT features a reasonable 3000mAh battery and can go all the way up to 100watts. Not that you’d ever run a 3000mAh battery that high, not if you want it to last anyway. The supplied MAAT tank comes with a 0.2ohm coil and a 0.3ohm coil in the box. But, there are five different coil resistances available in the TPP range. I chose the 0.2ohm coil which I ran at 50watts. The main reason I chose this is because that’s exactly what I use on my ARGUS GT 2, so I could give a proper comparison of performance. The liquid that I chose is the tasty Riot Squad Black Edition.
Right out of the gate I knew I was going to enjoy using this mod, as it is just as responsive as the GT 2. VOOPOO’S iconic Gene Chip fires as soon as you press the fire button and the flavour is consistent through the entire draw. Not that I bother to use it, but the MAAT tank has a satisfying airflow that is controlled via a switch, rather than the typical twist ring. Though I must admit, it is fun to fidget with. At 50watts I got around a day of use out of the device, with me needing to put it on charge when the evening came around. That was a solid day of vaping though as I vape all day long, the benefits of working for TECC.
My only issue with this kit is the Gene Chips wake up feature. When left for around 5 minutes or more then the kit won’t fire on the first press of the fire button. The first press simply ‘wakes up’ the kit. Whilst this is annoying, it’s a minor flaw and something you get used to.
Overall the mod performed as well as I was expecting it to, which was pretty well.
Ease of Use
This kit is super easy to use. It has a smart mode that means you can’t out watt your coil. The filling holes have a rubber seal to stop leakage and the TPP coils are push fit. The coils feature the wattage range on the side of the coil too, so even if you’re using another power mode you still know your min and max. Also, the kit is USB-C charged, meaning that it charges in less than an hour using a 3A plug.
Price
The VOOPOO ARGUS MT is available for £54.99.
The TPP coils are £7.99 for a pack of 3 with 5 resistances available. And, if anything happens to your tank, a replacement MAAT tank will cost £19.99.
Target Audience
This kit is well and truly targeted at DL vapers. The choice of coils is varied, but they’re still all DL coils. I wouldn’t recommend this kit for cloud chasers though, as at higher wattages this kit won’t be lasting you all day.
VooPoo Argus MT – Final Verdict
All in all this kit performed great. The fast charge, anti-leak features, different power modes and decent coils all make this kit perform great. As stated in the last section I wouldn’t recommend this for cloud chasers. If you’re looking for higher power, then go for the ARGUS XT or ARGUS GT 2 instead.
