This means that when it is used with a less powerful kit for MTL vaping, it will not be strong enough and might taste watered down.
Powerful mod kits use sub-ohm coils which have a low resistance. These coils usually come with larger wicking areas (the area with exposed cotton holes around the coil body) which allows them to absorb thicker e-liquid while heating up more vape juice at a quicker rate. This creates the desired vapour production, providing the intended flavour and throat hit from high VG e-liquid.
Alternatively, e-liquid with a high PG content should be used with low power mouth-to-lung vape kits. Although it can be absorbed easily by most coils, when vaped at a higher wattage the flavour will be unpleasant and the throat hit too harsh. Does PG:VG Ratio Impact Nicotine Strength?
The required nicotine strength can differ depending on the PG:VG ratio. As vapers who use high VG e-liquid use more vape juice than MTL vapers, the strength of the e-liquid can be lower.
For example, a DL vaper using a 0.6% high VG vape juice can get the same amount of nicotine as an MTL vaper using a 1.2% 50/50 e-liquid. If the direct-lung vaper went through two 0.6% bottles of e-liquid it would provide the same amount of nicotine as one bottle of 1.2% vape juice.
