VOOPOO DRAG H40 Overview
The VOOPOO DRAG H40 is sleek and pocket sized. It keeps the iconic look and feel of the DRAG series with stylish leatherette panels. This not only looks great but feels even better to hold. The front of the kit has a handy OLED screen that shows battery capacity, wattage, coil resistance and puff count. There’s also + and – buttons to easily adjust the power.
The PnP II pods are similar to the H80S and E60, but have been upgraded with an easy to use side fill to stop accidental opening in a pocket or bag. They are also clear, so you can easily see how much liquid you have in the tank. The bottom of the pods are textured to adjust the airflow, which is done by twisting it inside the battery.
There are two power modes on the DRAG H40: RBA and SMART. RBA allows you to set the power level between 5W and 40W. The SMART mode automatically adjusts depending on which coil you’re using. You can still change the wattage in this mode, but when the pod is removed it will reset back to the recommended one.
Which Vapers Should Buy the VOOPOO DRAG H40?
This small but mighty pod kit is designed for DL and RDL vaping, using the popular PnP coils which also open it up to use by MTL vapers.
The PnP coils are available in plenty of resistances from 1.0ohm to 0.3ohm, making it an ideal choice for nearly any vaper. Although there are PnP resistances lower than 0.3ohm, this kit has a maximum wattage of 40W, so it is best used with something a little higher.
What E-liquid should I use with the VOOPOO DRAG H40?
The VOOPOO DRAG H40 works best with 50/50 e-liquids or high VG, such as shortfill. 50/50 would be kinder to coils, but would need refilling more often. Higher VG liquids would produce more cloud, but reduce coil lifespan.

Appearance
We think this kit looks fantastic. It has the classic DRAG look that we’re used to and some really stylish colours. The pastel blue and pink are elegant, creating a look that isn’t bright or garish. Likewise, the gun metal and black versions are classy. Also, the leatherette panels are nice and spongy, which makes it comfy to vape long term.The screen of the kit is simpler than some of the other devices VOOPOO has released lately, but it’s not a step backwards. Less complex means more battery life, and it still gives you all the features you need.
Also, the pods have a slightly new look, being side fill instead of a screw-off top.
Performance
VOOPOO hasn’t disappointed us yet, and this kit vapes exactly as well as the other DRAGs. The main difference is the size, being shorter than the H80S. The battery capacity isn’t as big, but that’s the price you pay for a compact kit.We tried the device with both the 0.45ohm PnP and 0.3ohm PnP-TW coils. The 0.45ohm gave a great RDL draw that you can drop down to a loose MTL by adjusting the airflow. The 0.3ohm was a very satisfying DL experience. Both coils gave amazing flavour, but we’ve vaped them before, so it came as no surprise.
The 1500mAh battery was big enough to last all day, but if you’re vaping at the 40W then it might need a bit of a top-up. That’s not a problem though, thanks to the USB-C quick charge.
Ease of Use
For a DL kit, the H40 is pretty simple. The coils are push fit into the bottom of the pods, which use a handy side-fill port. It has SMART mode, which helps if you’re unsure about what setting to use and RBA for if you do. Also, there’s a generous airflow adjustment for tuning the kit to your preference.
