What is a vape tank?
An e-cig tank is the heart and soul of your e-cigarette, it creates the clouds of vapour and delivers nicotine to the vaper. E-cig tanks come in a wide range of styles and offer different levels of vaping to suit your personal preference. Housed within the tank is a ‘coil’, this is the heating element which absorbs e-liquid and turns it into vapour, allowing e-cigarettes to function. Coils can produce more or less vapour depending on the type used or whether your e-cig allows the output setting to be changed.

What is a sub-ohm vape tank?
Sub-ohm refers to the electrical resistance of the coil located within the tank. When the resistance reads as 0.99ohm or less on your e-cigarette, this is classed as a sub-ohm coil. The benefits to using sub-ohm include increased vapour production and flavour, but they require a higher power setting to be used in order to achieve this, hence why sub-ohm tanks are known to produce a very warm vape.
In addition to producing more vapour, sub-ohm tanks deliver more nicotine to the vaper, meaning less inhalations are required to feel a ‘hit’ from your e-liquid. Most vapers opt to use a lower strength nicotine when using a sub-ohm tank, as it reduces the ‘throat hit’ and allows for a greater amount of inhalations.

The Best E-liquids For Different Vape Tanks
The type of e-liquid that works best with vape tanks depends on the coils inside. Sub ohm tanks that use low resistances coils work best with high VG e-liquid. This is because they are designed to be used at higher power settings to create bigger clouds. However, 50/50 e-liquid can also be used, as the balanced ratio of PG and VG makes it suitable for both DL and MTL vaping.
Using nic salt or other high strength e-liquid will be too harsh for direct lung vaping and will make the experience unpleasant. Shortfill e-liquid such as Doozy Legends comes in a 70/30 VG PG ratio, making it perfect for DL vape tanks.
Tanks with high resistance coils perform better with nic salt. This is because they produce less vapour, so require a stronger liquid to deliver a quality throat hit with great flavour. TECC Titan pairs perfectly with MTL vape tanks because of the high PG content. This allows it to be absorbed easily by the coil, as well as delivering a sharp throat hit.
Like with sub ohm tanks, 50/50 e-liquid is also suitable for MTL vaping. A great option for those who want an e-liquid that can do both is Double Drip 50/50. The balanced PG/VG ratio makes it suitable for any vape tank. Plus, it comes in 4 strengths, from 1.8% for MTL vapers to 0.3% for direct lung.
