The stand out brand of 2021 which took over the disposable market is now entering the hardware space with the Elf Bar FB1000. The brand gained popularity rapidly over the last 6 months through the Elf Bar 600 Disposable which took full advantage of the rise in demand for disposables. It was then followed by the Elf Bar Mate 500 which offered users an closed pod system similar to Vuse<\/a> and RELX<\/a> devices. Now the brand has made the next step and introduces an open pod system. So, lets take a look at this new device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Appearance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The appearance of the device is what you would expect from an Elf Bar product. It isn’t too fancy and it doesn’t try to look as premium as other pod kits. I guess this is what the brand has always done which has proven to work. For example the Geek Bar arguably has a more premium appearance to the Elf Bar. However, they both offer similar performance and are the two leading disposables. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are 4 colours to choose from. There is also a silicone ring which allows the device to be clipped onto a lanyard for easy storage. The materials are lightweight and feel smooth to hold with grooves on the back for grip.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Performance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This kit has a built in 1000mAh battery. The maximum output is 30W, however the coil that comes with it performs at a wattage suited towards MTL and restricted DL vapers. The coil for this device is called the EBC M1 coil and comes in a 0.8ohm resistance. Although it hasn’t been confirmed i would guess that other resistances will be available soon to utilise the output range of this kit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When testing this device we noticed the coils looked familiar. So, we tried using the VOOPOO PnP coils<\/a> and they fit. However, we would recommend sticking to the coils provided as they come in the resistance designed for the device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FB1000 is a dual draw device. So, it can be activated by inhaling into the pod or through the button on the battery. 5 clicks turn the kit on. A white light will indicate this. The light will turn green when using the device and red if it detects an issue with the pod or coil.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The final feature to note is USB-C fast charging. Although most devices now use this connection it is worth mentioning as it means recharge times are quick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ease Of Use<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Although it isn’t as simple as the rest of the Elf Bar<\/a> range, it is still an easy to use pod kit. The coils fit to the the base of the pod through a push fit connection. This can be accessed by pulling the pod from battery. It then fits comfortable in place through a strong magnetic hold. As mentioned it is dual draw making it effortless to vape. Plus, refilling the tank is just like most other pods. A rubber bung on the base covers the e-liquid inlet so topping it up is as easy as swapping out the coil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Price<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Elf Bar FB1000 is priced as \u00a318.99 on our website. Although most disposable users will see this as much more expensive at face value, it is actually much cheaper in the long run. It lasts much longer than a disposable and can be refilled with a range of flavours. Plus it can be reused multiple times once empty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It seems like Elf Bar is taking their audience on a journey with each release. They started with a simple all in one disposable which attracted many smokers who were put off by complicated devices. The next step was the Mate 500 which added the removable pod element. This provided those users with a small step towards a regular e-cigarette<\/a>. Now they have been given another step with this device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
