E-cigarette battery types

Cig-a-like

This vape battery is commonly associated with the very first e-cigarettes that came to market. With an appearance similar to a real cigarette, these e-cig batteries are usually automatically activated and feature a light up tip, completing that authentic look and feel. E-cigs like our Titan Tank Classic and the 10 Motives kit feature this style of battery.

eGo Battery

This vape battery adopts a larger cylindrical appearance, which gave birth to the 'pen-style' e-cigarette term. These vaping batteries can be vaped with a range of tanks, and are generally used within e-cig starter kits. Our Tornado-T battery is the original eGo type cell which came out back in 2010.

Variable Output Battery

Also known as 'battery mods' or 'box mods', usually feature advanced modes and controls. A battery mod comes with an integrated battery pack which cannot be removed, these are ideal for vapers who do not wish to use removable batteries, instead preferring to use an internal source of power. Box mods tend to refer to units that accommodate removable battery cells such as 18650 or 21700.

Certain mods are simpler in operation, and it is not uncommon to find one without the usual advanced features and modes, making these type of mods better suited to low powered tanks or vapers wanting longer battery life in-between charges.

Mods can be used with a variety of tanks, and are well suited to a range of vaping applications, including the use of rebuildable tanks for vapers who like to produce large clouds of vapour, or simply if you would prefer not to have the hassle of removing vape mod batteries.

Removable Battery

This refers to a battery, or cell, which is inserted within an e-cig mod to produce power. They are available in different sizes such as 18650, 20700 & 21700. This type of battery would be used within e-cigs such as the Wismec GEN3 Dual.
