What is The Electronic Cigarette?

An electronic cigarette simulates the function of a regular cigarette, but without burning any tobacco or the user inhaling any of the 4000 chemicals usually found in them.

The electronic cigarette, e-cig, or electric cig is made up of three parts.

• The battery: this is a rechargeable lithium battery with extra technology that senses when the user inhales. The inhalation triggers the battery to send a charge to the atomizer.
• The atomizer: This has a heating coil in it, and when the charge is received from the battery, it heats up the coil, that then vaporises the e-liquid in the cartridge.
• The cartridge: This usually consists of the mouth piece, with some e-liquid soaked wadding that fits onto the atomizer. It is from the cartridge that the vaporised e-liquid is inhaled.

Electronic Cigarettes are an alternative to regular cigarettes, can help the user to regulate their nicotine intake, do create vapour that resembles smoke, but do not have the tar, carbon monoxide or many of the known carcinogens in that tobacco cigarettes have.
